Canva alternatives for a UGC portfolio and media kit

Canva is where most creators make their first media kit and portfolio. It’s a design tool, so the page looks how you make it look, and the numbers are whatever you typed. These alternatives keep the stats current, take bookings or get you paid.

What Canva gives you

  • Templates: its media kit page lists 430 templates "that you can customize and download"; the free plan has 1.6+ million templates in all, Pro 3.6+ million.
  • A website: Canva Websites publish free on a xyz.my.canva.site address, up to five live sites on the free plan. Buying a domain through Canva or connecting your own needs Pro.
  • Downloads: PDF, JPG and PNG on every plan.
  • Price: free, or Pro at CA$142 a year for one person (Canva showed us CAD prices from Canada; yours may be in your currency).

Reasons you might look elsewhere

  • Stats go stale. A Canva media kit holds the follower and view counts you typed the day you made it.
  • No booking or payments. A brand still has to email you, and you still send the invoice yourself.
  • A custom domain needs Pro or a domain bought through Canva.

If you like designing in Canva, keep it for the look and fix the content: our media kit template is the one-page outline (what to put in, in the order brands read it) that you lay out in Canva or anywhere else, and the UGC rate calculator gives you the rate line. The trade-offs are side by side in UGC Creator Portfolio vs Canva.

What we don't have yet: a hosted portfolio or media kit page, live follower stats, invoicing or payments. Those are the next build; the early-access list below gets an email when they open.

Who should stay on Canva

  • You want full control of the design and are happy to update numbers by hand.
  • You send the media kit as a PDF attachment more than as a link.
  • You already pay for Canva Pro for your content and want one tool.
