What to put in a media kit

A media kit answers a brand’s questions before they ask: who you are, who watches you, what you have done for other brands, and what working with you costs.

The sections, in the order brands read them

  1. About you: name, location, what you make, and a photo.
  2. Your stats: followers on the platforms that matter, average views, and engagement rate from the engagement rate calculator, with the dates they cover.
  3. Your audience: age, gender, location and interests, from your platform analytics.
  4. Past work: two or three campaigns with the brand name and a result.
  5. Testimonials: a line from a brand you have worked with, if you have one.
  6. What you offer: UGC videos, sponsored posts, Stories, usage rights.
  7. Rates: starting prices, or "from" prices per package.
  8. Contact: email and your portfolio link.

How long it should be

Hootsuite says about one page; Influencer Marketing Hub says no more than three. One page that a brand can read in a minute, with links for the rest, wins.

What to leave out

  • Stats that don’t help you. Show the platform and the numbers that make your case, and cut the rest.
  • Old numbers. Update your stats every month or two, and date them.
  • Anything you can’t back up. Brands check.

Questions creators ask

+Should I put my rates in my media kit?

Both sources we checked list pricing as a media kit section. "From" prices per package work well: they set expectations and leave room to quote each brief.

+How often should I update my media kit?

Whenever your numbers move much, and at least every couple of months. Date the stats so brands know they are current.
